In February 2018, GRLSWIRL began in Venice, CA. After our first unofficial group skate, we knew we had to share what we felt with others - the feeling of empowerment, encouragement and friendship through skateboarding. Soon we were hosting group skates every Tuesday night in Venice, and with the stoke of our members and our community, the demand and the love for what we were doing kept growing. What started as a small group of 9 founding women, GRLSWIRL has grown into a global force of hundreds of thousands of members, online and IRL. We invite you to join us from group skates at our SWIRL chapters in NYC, San Diego, Lisbon and Paris (with more to come!)

We truly believe that through our individual stories and strength in community, we can inspire people to face insecurities and come together through the simple act of trying something new. Together we are carving the way to a more welcoming skate environment, where you don't have to fit a certain mold to be accepted.

You don't have to be the best, you can still be the okayest and have the most fun.
