THE GRLSWIRL HELMET HAS LANDED ON OUR HEADS AND IN OUR HEARTS.
Want to protect that beautiful noggin' and look good doing it? The GRLSWIRL Helmet is here for you.
Our heads are where we keep some pretty important stuff, so making sure you're protected when you're dropping in, skating down the street (hello crazy drivers), or just starting out on a board is always a good idea. It's all about feeling your safest, and skating with a helmet on can make you feel ready to try that new move or push yourself a little further.
The GRLSWIRL Helmet was made with Bern Helmets, and is performance tested and certified to meet U.S. CPSC helmet safety standards, and includes impact and fit testing in a variety of environmental conditions to mimic real-world use and storage established by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Condition as well and E.U. version EN 1078. So you can rest assured that your head is in good hands.

WHAT IS DEADSTOCK OR UP-CYCLED FABRIC?
Instead of ordering fabric from overseas companies, we source all fabrics locally in Los Angeles from warehouses that store vintage or "deadstock" fabric. Deadstock is just a word for extra stocked fabric that has been abandoned by it's original owner. When a big fashion house orders fabrics for their collection, they usually order 20% more than what they need. Crazy, huh? The extra fabric generally goes unused, and therefore no longer useful. We buy this remaining fabric rather than letting it end up in landfills.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY GARMENT?
Hand wash or eco-friendly dry clean.
Hand wash in cold water with gentle detergent and hang dry. Garment may shrink 3% after first wash.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY DRY CLEANERS / LAUNDRY MAT IS ECO-FRIENDLY?
Many dry cleaners claim they are "eco-friendly" "organic" or "natural" but in reality are not. Do your research. Call and ask how their process works. Ask to view the cleaning products they use. Check for toxic chemicals.
Ask your cleaners if they use a chemical called 'perchloroethylene' or 'perc' for short. This is the main toxin used in the majority of cleaners today. And super a NO-NO to your health and the environment. Perc is a synthetic, volatile organic compound (VOC) - eh, see that's how some cleaners can get away with saying they're "organic" - sneaky bitches. With minimal exposure perc can cause dizziness, headaches, drowsiness, nausea, and skin and respiratory irritation - while on your body and inside your home. Prolonged exposure can lead to cancer, kidney failure and other awful things you don't want.
Let's get educated and say NO to perc and YES! to a cleaner, healthier and safer cleaning alternative.
